This piece, Lady in Red, is one of my personal favorites. I created it using colored pencil, layering tones and textures to bring out both the softness and strength in the subject. Her expression is calm but commanding, and I wanted that sense of quiet power to come through clearly.
The floral headpiece and red patterned dress were inspired by traditional elements, but I also wanted to give the whole composition a bold, modern edge. I spent a lot of time working on the details—especially in the braid, the fabric, and the flowers—to really make the textures come alive.
There’s a sense of elegance here, but also something a little untamed. For me, it’s about celebrating beauty, culture, and presence all in one frame.
Prints of this piece are available for purchase in a variety of sizes and formats. High-quality reproductions ensure that every detail of the original is preserved. Please contact me directly for ordering options.
